Strawfrank Church

This is a view of Carstairs Junction of Strawfrank Church looking South. This Church was in part funded by the railway workers employed by the Caledonian Railway Company. Carstairs Junction, as the name suggests, was the place where the East Coast and West Coast lines met. It was a station of considerable importance.

Some of the properties shown in this picture were built at the expense of the Caledonian Railway Company. The cart in the photograph was possibly a milk cart, the precursor of the milk float.
